Wedding Ceremony -or- Cocktail Hour                  $500

I will work with you to pick meaningful music for each part of your ceremony.  This includes 15 minutes of prelude music, family seating and bridal party processional music, the bride's entrance, music during the ceremony, recessional music, and 15 minutes of postlude music.    

Attendance at the wedding rehearsal is an additional fee but is not necessary; I have played at hundreds of weddings and will gather information about the size of your bridal party and other details of the service to perfect timing. 

Wedding ceremonies are available on solo violin, and I perform anything from traditional classical to modern pop songs.  Have Norwegian heritage? Hardingfele folk tunes and bridal marches from your ancestors' region of Norway make a beautiful addition to a wedding!

Performance - violin, hardingfele, or both       $400/hr

You let me know what you would like for the musical mood (classical, pop music, folk music, Hardanger fiddle) and I will play for an hour from my repertoire.  If I am playing for multiple hours, I will take a short break at the top of each hour. 

Think creatively!  I have performed everywhere from formal concert settings to backyard parties. 

Depending on the structure of your event, if my "total playing time" adds up to 1 hour, this is the rate that applies.  A discount applies if a performance is booked in conjunction with a wedding, for example, for a cocktail or dinner hour.

Hardanger Fiddle Lessons                        $40/half hr

I offer Hardanger fiddle lessons both in person and online.  Because it is such a rare instrument here in the USA, online lessons are the most common method of teaching, and I conduct them via Zoom.  I teach from the entire breadth and depth of the folk tradition, allowing students to learn a wide variety of tunes they can play for others and for dancing.

Hardanger Fiddle Presentation                      $400/hr

The Hardanger fiddle is a unique instrument and an integral part of Norwegian culture.  I will present information about the music and dance of the Hardanger fiddle, demonstrate the instrument, perform many tunes, answer questions, and give an up-close look at the instrument.  If requested, I will wear my traditional Norwegian bunad or other festive dress.  Presentations can be tailored to fit anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Makaber Antologi               $1,000/program + mileage

In partnership with Norwegian storyteller (and comic!) Chad Filley, "Makaber Antologi" is a 75-minute journey through dark moments in Norwegian history, both fact and folklore, accompanied by eerie tunes.

• Told with horror and humor, some stories are real, some are tall tales, and most are somewhere in between.

• Themes include stabbings, justice, the devil, trolls, tricksters, witches, mythical creatures, and more.  

• The program can be adapted for kids, omitting darker themes and focusing on lighter topics.

• The program appeals to broad audiences: folk music enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone who enjoys a “scary campfire story.”

• Makaber Antologi is perfect programming for October, the darkest days of winter, or on days with full moons.

As this is a formal, experiential, multimedia show, our rate is $1,000 per show, plus applicable mileage and lodging for Chad (Cambridge, MN) and me (Decorah, IA), as needed. 

Video Greeting                                                  $150

Video greetings make a great gift or a special surprise!  Each greeting includes a live performance of 1 song of your choice (classical violin favorite, violin pop cover, hardingfele tune, etc.) and well wishes for the special occasion (birthday, retirement, engagement, etc.)  Greetings will filmed in my home or yard, but I will consider special local location requests.  Videos will be recorded on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and sent as a link via email.  I recommend that you download the video from the link and save it to your phone and computer if you wish to re-watch it for many years. 

Note: Video greetings are for personal use only, so please do not use or re-use them for promotions or profits. Uploading your greeting to social media is okay, and please tag me @edenehmmusic

Funeral Service (violin solo or violin duet)      $ Variable

My rates for funeral services are calculated ad hoc and vary based on the number of musicians, the scope of musical involvement, special requests that may necessitate purchasing music, and travel mileage.   
 

Services are available as a violin duo or violin solo.  Please reach out to confirm availability, especially if the services occur during the M-F 8-5 work week. 
 

It's meaningful to provide music for families in these moments!  Example music includes hymns, worship music, Amazing Grace, Ashokan Farewell, Danny Boy, Meditation from Thais, Ave Maria, How Can I Keep from Singing, The Lark Ascending, River Flows in You, Into the West, mellow classical, and special requests and collaboations.      

Hardanger Bunad                                              $ 50

My restored 1940s Hardanger bunad is available for performances, with added interpretation of this specific bunad tradition.  Due to the costs associated with maintaining this historical garment (cleaning, repairs) coupled with the risks of traveling with it (damage, lost parts) an additional fee may apply in certain performance scenarios.  Please inquire if this is something your audience would enjoy seeing.  Otherwise, I typically perform in other Norwegian "festive dress" for Hardanger fiddle or "concert black" for violin.

Travel                                                       $ Variable

I regularly travel within a 120-mile (approximately 2-hours) one-way radius of the tri-state area of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.  A mileage charge will be added for travel to venues outside of a 15-mile/15-minute radius of my hometown.  I use the current federal mileage rate multiplied by the round-trip miles and number of trips.  I will let you know if a mileage charge applies well before booking, and this is typically built into my all-inclusive rate quotes.  I will consider further travel distances beyond 120 miles/2 hours one-way under special circumstances, and typically request overnight lodging or a homestay for these performances.
